Watch: Annie’s Boy wins major event at Marsa Racetrack

Three wins for Noel Baldacchino

The Summer Championships series, organised in the past weeks by the Malta Racing Club, were concluded on Sunday evening with seven finals on a long distance of 2,640m.

These championships were financially supported by the Marsa Race Track Limited.

The main event was a class Premier final and which was won by Norwegian Annie’s Boy driven by Michael Ellul.

Noel Baldacchino managed to win three of the seven finals.

Eleven trotters lined up for the class Premier final.

Annie’s Boy (Michael Ellul) took the lead after only 500m from the start. This trotter opened a small lead from Balthazar Maza (Caillin Borg) and Output Pressure (Clint Vassallo).

Annie’s Boy led till the end and sealed its second win in Malta after sustaining in the final straight the challenge of Vanderlov (Melvin Farrugia).

Navaj Brodda (Charles Camilleri) and Balthazar Maza followed behind in that order.

In the class Gold final, American Master (Paul Galea) increased its speed during the last 500 metres and managed to seal its second win in Malta by half-length from Vicken Swing (Mark Mifsud) and Italian Teddy Boy O.K. (Jesmar Gafa’).

Favourite Prediction (Mario Spiteri) ended in fourth place.

The Parliamentary Secretary responsible for Sport, Dr Clifton Grima, presented the winning trophy to the winning owners and drivers.

Race 4. Class Gold Final. Dist – 2640m. American Master (Paul Galea) – 1.15.9”

Race 5. Class Silver A Final. Dist – 2640m. Village Natal (Noel Baldacchino) – 1.14.9”

Race 6. Class Premier Final. Dist – 2640m. Annie’s Boy (Michael Ellul) – 1.14.7”

Race 7. Class Klassi Silver B Final. Dist – 2640m. Bombay Saphir (Noel Baldacchino) – 1.15.8”
