Serie A giants Milan could be drawn against Hibernians when the draws of the second qualifying round of the Europa League are held in Nyon on Monday.
The Paolites joined Malta champions Floriana in the draw of the UEFA club competition after last week they managed to overcome FC Vaduz 2-0 at the Rhinepark Stadion in Liechtenstein courtesy of a brace by Jurgen Degabriele.
On Monday, UEFA split the participating teams in Monday’s draw into groups and Hibernians were put as one of the unseeded sides in Group 12 alongside Bodo Glimt, of Norway, and Shamrock Rovers, of Ireland.
Among the seeded teams in this group are Italian side AC Milan who enjoy huge following here in Malta and boast several top players in their group such as goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarrumma and Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic among others.
Apart from Milan, the Paolites could also be drawn against Hungarian giants Fehevar, previously known as Videoton, and Lithuania’s Zalgiris Vilnius.
On the other hand, Floriana are in the Champions Path and have been pitted in Group 1. The Greens are one of the seeded teams in the draw since they started their European campaign in the Champions League where they lost to CFR Cluj, of Romania, 2-0.
Vincenzo Potenza’s men could be drawn against Northern Ireland’s Linfield, Slovan Bratislava, of Slovakia, KuPS, of Finland, Ireland’s Dundalk and Andorra’s Inter Escaldes.
The Europa League second qualifying draw will be held at 1pm on Monday.
