French female referee Stephanie Frappart will take charge of Sunday’s UEFA Nations League match between Malta and Latvia at the National Stadium.
This will be the first time that the Malta national team will have a female referee officiating an international match.
Frappart will be assisted by fellow French officials Aurelien Drouet and Mikel Berchebru with Willy Delajod acting as fourth official.
Frappart has gone up the ranks of international refereeing in recent years as the French official was entrusted in taking charge of the 2019 European Super Cup final between Liverpool and Chelsea in Istanbul
France’s Frappart, 35, refereed the Women’s World Cup final between the United States and the Netherlands in July, and became the first female to officiate a Ligue 1 match in 2017-18.
