Watch: Vivaldi Du Vivrot and Vertige De Chenu win major races at Marsa Racetrack

Vivaldi Du Vivrot and Vertige De Chenu won Sunday’s major events at the Marsa Racetrack.

These were races reserved for French trotters from class Premier on a short distance of  2,140m. They formed part of the 27th meeting of the season made up of ten races all for trotters.

In the first class Premier race, Apollon d’Anjou (Mario Fenech) was the fastest horse at first, opening a small lead from Vivaldi du Vivrot (Anton Cassar) and Bajazet (Marius Mizzi).

However midway through the final straight Apollon d’Anjou started to slow down and was overtaken by Vivaldi Du Vivrot which sealed its first win in Malta by two lenghts with Baron Du Chene (Michael Sultana) and Vancouver Keryvon (Herman Mc Kay) ending respectively in third and fourth place.

There was a keen duel in the final metres of the second class Premier race between Vertige De Chenu (Charles Camilleri) and As De Godisson (Mario Fenech).
