Mġarr United women’s team appoint Michael Mangion as coach

Mġarr United women’s team will have a new coach in charge as from 2021/2022 season after the Greens announced Michael Mangion at the helm of the team.

Mangion, who is a UEFA B License coach, has vast experience in Maltese football having been a key figure at Lija Athletic.

In fact, he won no less than six promotions with the club including two as assistant coach of the men’s senior team and three as U-19’s coach.

He will be taking over from Bryan Falzon whereas highly-experienced Patrick Curmi will remain in charge as Head Coach of the Greens, with David Attard and Ryan Vella assisting him his men’s first-team duties.

Prior to the premature end of this season, Mġarr were sitting third with 31 points after 14 games with forward Francesca Chircop leading the top scorer table with 18 goals.

In 2018 and 2019, Mġarr reached the domestic cup final twice in a row, while in the previous two league campaigns, the Greens had finished second behind Birkirkara.
