Promotion will be on Kurt Cassar and the Janus Fabriano players’ minds, heading into Game Three of the Serie B Playoff finals this week. The side leads the series 2-0 after two impressive performances, last of which saw the Malta center taking the MVP honours. ITALY
Kurt Cassar scored 12 points as Janus Fabriano beat Cividale 81-58 on Sunday taking the first game of the Finals series.
This was not enough however, as Cassar put in a fantastic display in Game Two on Tuesday when he scored 28 to lead the game in scoring and completed his double-double with 10 rebounds as the side cruised to an 86-57 win.
Julia Borg scored six points for Sheffield College on Saturday in what could have been the battle of the Maltese guards as the side lost to Charnwood College 82-72 in the WEABL championship. Borg added six rebounds and six assists in 37 minutes.
Sasha Lecuyer, who plays for Charnwood, was not in the squad against Borg.
AUSTRALIA
Jacob Formosa scored four points in six minutes as the Joondalup Wolves beat the Eastern Suns 103-75 on Saturday.
The Wolfpack lies in sixth place in the NBL 1 West ladder so far with a 6-3 record.
The side faces the Perth Redbacks on Friday, before playing the Geraldton Buccaneers on Sunday.
