Mosta goalkeeper Christoffer Mafoumbi was between the sticks for Congo Republic’s final World Cup qualifier as his national team wrapped up its Qatar 2022 commitments.
Congo Republic travelled to Senegal to face one of Africa’s powerhouses with the latter emerging winners 2-0 thanks to an Ismaila Sarr’s brace in the first half.
Senegal, coached by home legend Aliou Cisse, had already booked a berth into the next round of the qualifications as they finish this round on top of their group with 16 points after six games.
On the other hand, Mafoumbi’s Congo Republic finished bottom with just three points.
