Zach Muscat’s Casa Pia are the new leaders of Portugal’s second-tier after beating Varzim 1-0 in their Thursday night fixture.
Casa Pia have leapfrogged Benfica B and Feirense as they have now 27 points after 13 games. Both Benfica and Feirense have a game in hand.
Malta defender Muscat was deployed from the start and played a full 90 minutes with Casa Pia securing the win thanks to a first-half goal from Saviour Godwin.
Muscat’s side will return in action on December 13 when they travel to CF Estrela da Amadora.
