Panama defender Oscar Linton returns to Sliema Wanderers
Premier League strugglers Sliema Wanderers have continued to reinforce their squad in attempt to salvage their top-flight status after announcing the return of defender Oscar Linton.
Linton, who hails from Panama, will be featuring for the Blues for the second time after playing 13 games in the first half of the 2020/2021 season. Afterwards, the 28-year-old left for Japan’s third-tier where he played for FC Imabari.
The defender has also four caps with his national team, with his last international game being a 6-2 defeat against the United States in November of last year.
Linton follows Matteo Piciollo who has also joined Sliema in December as the Blues are expected to bring in Gżira United’s Martin Davis as well.
Sliema are unexpectedly having a troubled season as they are anchored at the bottom of the league with just four points after 11 games.
