MFA Women’s League outfit Raiders Lija have strengthened their squad with the acquisition of Spanish player Clara Padillo Chozas, the club announced on Friday.
Chozas, 24, has joined the Maltese club from Spanish side Azahar C.F. She is described as a versatile player who can play as a defender and as a midfielder.
Raiders can be considered as the surprise package of this year’s campaign as they are currently third with 13 points after four victories and a draw – a 0-0 against Swieqi United.
They are coached by Denis Guerra, assisted by former Valletta and Floriana player Antonio Monticelli.
