Maltese youth Alexandra Gatt will start a new chapter in her football career after putting pen to paper on a deal with London Seaward FC, until the end of the season.
London Seaward are fourth-tier club who plays in the FA Women’s National League – Division One (South East region) and are currently producing a good season as they sit fourth on 19 points in the 13-team league which includes the likes of leaders Hashtag United, AFC Wimbledon, Norwich City and Stevenage.
Gatt will join the reserves’ side ahead of Sunday’s stern test against Crystal Palace before she goes on to be fully included with the senior team from next week.
The former Mġarr United is also on the books of Barking Abbey College with whom she will continue to feature in the National Football Youth League, every Wednesday.
The 17-year-old defender had earned its first Malta women’s national team call-up for the 2023 Women’s World Cup qualifications against Denmark and Bosnia-Herzegovina, in September.
In October, Gatt captained the U-19’s selection during the European Championship qualifications and she is expected to be part of the squad once again when Malta launch its round 2 games in April.
