Maltese defender Alexandra Gatt was handed her London Seaward’s senior debut in the English fourth-tier (FA Women’s National League – Division One), on Wednesday night.
Gatt, 17, was named on the bench for London Seaward’s league fixture against AFC Wimbledon after featuring for their Reserves side last Sunday.
The former Mġarr United player was deployed into the game midway into the second half as London Seaward were looking to rescue at least a point after going down by two goals.
At the end, Wimbledon managed to maintain their two-goal lead and claim the spoils but nonetheless, it was a special night for the young Maltese player who played her maiden game at senior level in England.
London Seaward return in action next Sunday when they host second-place Billericay Town.
