An 11th-minute goal from Casper Nielsen, who capitalised on a Teuma’s assist, was enough for RUSG to secure the three points which keeps them at the top of the league with a nine-point lead on Club Brugge.
Coached by former Belgium and Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany, Anderlecht remain fourth as their gap with RUSG increases to 12 points.
RUSG’s title credentials will face another test in their upcoming league commitment when they travel to Radja Nainngolan’s Royal Antwerp who are currently third in the Belgium top-flight.
