Birkirkara have parted ways with head coach Andre Paus, the Premier League club announced.
The Stripes’ decision to part ways with the former Valletta FC coach comes after talks between the two parties and a mutual agreement has been made so that the club and Paus go separate ways.
The decision comes after Birkirkara crashed out of the FA Trophy quarter-finals following a 3-1 defeat to Floriana on Monday.
Jonathan Holland will now take charge of the team, starting with Saturday’s Premier League clash against Floriana on Saturday.
“Birkirkara FC and head coach Mr Andre Paus have mutually agreed not to extend the contract for the coming season,” the Premier League club said in a statement.
“It has been agreed by both parties that for the remaining three games of the current season, Mr Jonahtan Holland shall take up the role of the Head Coach in his absence.
“The club would like to put on record their tanks to Mr Paus for the work done in the last three seasons and wish him the best of luck for his future.”
Birkirkara are looking to secure their place in UEFA club competitions next season and are currently third in the Premier League standings and at the moment hold the final berth to a place in the UEFA Conference League.
The Stripes are currently third on 40 points, two clear of Ħamrun Spartans and three ahead of Gżira United.
