Teuma’s Union coach leaves for Anderlecht post

Malta international Teddy Teuma will be playing under a new coach in the next campaign after Felice Mazzu left his post at Royal Union St Gilloise.

After two seasons at the helm, Mazzu will change club but not city as he will take charge of Brussels-based Anderlecht – 34-times winners of the Belgian top-flight.

He will be replacing former Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany who is reportedly linked with the Burnley job.

Mazzu took over at Union St Gilloise in 2020 and he steered the club to a historic promotion in the top-tier. In the previous season, he led Teuma’s side to a second place as they secured a UEFA Champions League qualification berth.

He picked up a number of individual accolades during the last season including the Jupiler Pro League Coach of the Year.
