Greens eye deals for French striker, Norwegian attacking midfielder
Floriana are in advanced talks to sign two attacking players with an important international profile, the Times of Malta can confirm.
Eliminated from Trophy but still very well in the fight for a top three placing in the Premier League league, the Greens are determined to bolster squad, not only for this season, but for eventual UEFA commitments and future seasons
Sources have told the Times of Malta, that the Greens are likely to offer a contract to Ivory Coast striker Thomas Toure and are also finalising talks to sign Norwegian attacking midfielder Sindre Osestad.
Thomas Toure is 29-year-old forward, who is also capable of playing as a left winger, and spent the past week on trial with the club.
The French-born forward, who also holds Ivory Coast citizenship, is understood to have impressed the club and is likely to be offered a contract until the end of the season.
Toure spent the majority of his career in France, where he came through the youth ranks of Girondins Bordeaux before he moved to Angers, Paris FC an also had a spell at Sochaux.
Last season he moved to Belgium with RE Virton.
On the other hand, Osestad is a 23-year-old attacking midfielder who arrived in Malta on Friday and is also expected to seal a move to last season’s FA Trophy winners.
In fact, Osestad has impressed the club’s scouting talent who are seeing him as a young talent with a great future ahead of him
The young attacking midfielder started his career with Giv Akt before moving to IK Start II.
In October 2020 he joined Grorud IL.
Toure and Osestad will not be involved against Birkirkara this weekend but could make their debut against Valletta on January 29.
Meanwhile, it is understood that Floriana are continuing their efforts to bring in more Maltese talent at the club, not necessarily during the January transfer window but also at the end of the season.
