Two second-half goals against rivals Hibernians have handed Birkirkara a special milestone as they secured their 90th straight positive result in the women’s league.
After a goalless stalemate, Birkirkara drew first blood on the 69th minute when Francesca Chircop slotted into empty net to score her first league goal for the Stripes.
Jose Borg’s side sealed the win when Raina Giusti scored three minutes from time as Birkirkara extend their perfect start after their first three league outings.

Mġarr United broke little sweat to beat Lija Athletic and maintain their lead in the women’s league.
The Greens scored seven goals as they remain on top with 13 points to show after five outings – four wins and one draw.
Brazilian player Joelma scored a hat-trick as she tops the league’s scoring charts with nine goals.
Fernanda Peinado, another Brazil-born player, grabbed a brace as she sits two goals shy of Joelma in the same list.
The other goals were registered by Abigail Camilleri and Yulya Carella.

San Ġwann secured their maiden win of the season after hitting three past Mtarfa over the weekend.
Summer signing Andela Kricak was San Ġwann’s hero with two goals, both in the first half.
Julian Camilleri’s side wrapped up the three-goal win with Tourki Chaimaa’s goal early in the second half.

Swieqi United bounced back to winning ways after defeating Valletta.
Ghana forwards Karima Abdulai and Salamatu Abdulai scored two goals each as both players have seven goals to their name so far.
The other goal was scored by midfielder Shona Zammit, her second of the season.
For Valletta, Marcelle found the net to score her third goal of the 2023/2024 campaign.
