Malta midfielder was in the starting formation in their USL League One opener.
Malta international midfielder Yannick Yankam launched his career in the United States after making his Lexington SC debut in the USL League One, on Saturday.
The former Birkirkara midfielder, who joined the club during the winter transfer window, was deployed from the start as Lexington SC and NC Hailstorm shared the spoils in a 0-0 draw in America’s third-tier.
Yankam became the first active senior UEFA international to play in the USL League One as well.
The Maltese player, who in his career played for Qormi as well, had 65 ball touches in the 72 minutes he played, producing 88% accurate passes and four perfect long balls combined with a perfect completion of dribbles (3/3) and 7 ground duels won.
Lexington return in action next weekend when they host Chattanooga Red Wolves before making their US Open Cup introduction with an away game at Vermont Green FC.
