The 11th meeting of the season, consisting of 11 races all for trotters, was held on Sunday afternoon at the Marsa Racetrack.
Seven of these races heralded the start of the Bavaria Championship for class Gold trotters on a long distance of 2,640m.
The card also included the first two heats from the MRTL championship for class Bronze trotters on a short distance of 2,140m.
From the seven class Gold heats 35 trotters made it to the semi-final stage.
In the first heat, Scandinavian mare Dear Matrix (Rodney Gatt) registered its first win in Malta after increasing its speed in the final metres.
Cruise (Paul Galea) gained its second win of the year in the second heat with Dynamit Life (David Galea) finishing first by a whisker in the third heat.
French favourite Iron de Ginai (Charles Degiorgio) sealed its third win in a row and in Malta after leading all the way in the fourth class Gold heat.
In the fifth heat, it was Elton Ball (Gianluca Grech) which obtained its first win in Malta after passing the finishing post first with five lenghts lead.
As expected, favourite Extra Mossa (Noel Baldacchino) dominated the sixth heat in order to obtain its second consecutive win and in Malta.
The seventh and last heat was won by Swedish newcomer Dats So Crazy (Anton Cassar) which upped its pace in the final metres.
Another meeting at the Marsa Racetrack will be held tomorrow. This will also include the Tazza San Frangisk final for class Copper trotters. The first race should start at 1.30pm.
