Andrew Cohen will continue at the helm of Gżira United for another season after he successfully completed clear-the-air talks with club president Sharlon Pace, the Times of Malta can confirm.
Cohen was promoted to first-team coach at Gżira United earlier this year following the departure of Darren Abdilla from the club last January.
The former Hibernians attacking midfielder had a tough challenge at hand as he needed to lead the team to move out of the relegation zone.
After a challenging few months, Cohen has managed to steer the ship at Gżira United as he managed to secure salvation for the Maroons on the final day of the season following a 3-1 win over Floriana.
He also steered the team into the semi-finals of the FA Trophy and was on the verge of reaching the final only to suffer a heart-breaking penalty shoot-out defeat to Floriana.
Last January, Cohen had signed a one-year extension with the Maroons but at the end of the season, he opted to open talks with club president Sharlon Pace to see if the club could meet his ambitions next season.
Cohen was satisfied with the plans presented to him by club president Sharlon Pace and has confirmed to the Times of Malta that he will honour his contract and start preparations for the new season in the coming weeks.
