Alderson Broaddus Battlers guard Kristy Galea kicked off her season in style with points on the board in her first two games, a 63-76 loss to Wheeling University and a 66-73 win over West Liberty.
In the team’s first game against Wheeling University on Thursday, Galea came off the bench to play 14 minutes, scoring two points off a great solo move. She also grabbed two boards.
On Sunday, the No. 23 started and played 29 minutes. This time, she scored 9, got four rebounds and as many assists. Defensively she managed a block and two steals.
The Battlers are now 1-1 after their first two games and face the University of Charlston Golden Eagles on Wednesday.

Aaron Falzon scored five in 17 minutes off the bench on Thursday as the Leicester Riders beat the Plymouth Raiders 71-77.
The Riders face the Newcastle Eagles in the BBL Cup semi-final on Tuesday.
