Alderson Broaddus Battlers guard Kristy Galea kicked off her season in style with points on the board in her first two games, a 63-76 loss to Wheeling University and a 66-73 win over West Liberty.
In the team’s first game against Wheeling University on Thursday, Galea came off the bench to play 14 minutes, scoring two points off a great solo move. She also grabbed two boards.
On Sunday, the No. 23 started and played 29 minutes. This time, she scored 9, got four rebounds and as many assists. Defensively she managed a block and two steals.
The Battlers are now 1-1 after their first two games and face the University of Charlston Golden Eagles on Wednesday.

In the case of fellow Rider Sasha Lecuyer, covid-19 restriction in the UK has seen all sport, except that which is considered elite, halted and so the Loughborough Riders’ game against COLA Southwark Pride on Saturday was cancelled.
Similarly, the start of Julia Borg’s Sheffield experience has also been postponed as she waits to ply her trade overseas.
SPAIN
Mikela Riolo and the Magec Tias will have to wait to continue their season. According to a statement by the club, all training of the club is suspended “due to the situation generated on the island of Lanzarote due to covid-19”.
No restart date has been announced so far.
