Malta international Kurt Cassar has left Pallacanestro Orzinuovi and is on the verge of continuing the season with Serie B side Janus Fabriano Basket, the Times of Malta can confirm, with sources saying the official announcement is set to be made on Wednesday.
The 21-year-old center will be fired up to start his experience with Fabriano after his move to Orzinuovi in the Serie A2 back in June left him looking for more minutes on court.
The Orzinuovi club said in a statement that it officially confirms Cassar’s consensual termination.
“The organisation thanks Kurt for his seriousness and hard work, wishing him the best sports and personal fortunes,” the statement read.
This move comes with Fabriano currently in an impressive second position (5-2) of the Serie B Group C2 after seven game-days and the acquisition of Cassar is said to be part of their plans to fight for promotion to next season’s Serie A2.
