While many of the Maltese players abroad were absent from playing for covid reasons amongst others, Malta forward Aaron Falzon and center Sam Deguara added to their tally with double-digit games last week. The Times of Malta Sportsdesk looks at Falzon and other Maltese professionals plying their trade overseas in another segment of ‘Maltese Abroad’.

Aaron Falzon scored ten points off the bench in midweek as the Leicester Riders beat the Newcastle Eagles 83-75. Falzon spent around 14 minutes on court and apart from his scoring, he assisted another, grabbed three boards, and made a steal.

Later in the Sunday game, another win – 77-91 – against the Manchester Giants, he played around 15 minutes off the bench, scoring four while grabbing five boards and made two assists.

The Leicester Riders face the Worchester Wolves on Friday and Sunday in their next two games.

Sam Deguara rises for a dunk with Tokyo Excellence.

The next day, Deguara was back with another 15 points in around 25 minutes. This time he grabbed six boards and made another two blocks as the side lost 66-90.
