The Gozo FA Council on Thursday voted in favour of declaring this year’s championships void following an urgent meeting.
Delegates from member clubs in Gozo met in a meeting on Thursday to discuss the current situation following the government’s decision against lifting its restrictions on organised sport.
During the meeting, a vote was taken to decide the fate of this year’s GFA Division One and Division Two.
Since the championship failed to meet the 75 per cent amount of fixtures played, 11 clubs voted in favour that the championships will come to an end immediately while the other three voted against the proposal.
Now, this decision will be discussed by the Malta FA Executive meeting on Friday afternoon and if it will be accepted then the championship will be declared void.
This would mean that no championships will be awarded this season while no team will be promoted or relegated.
