Hibernians are expected to reconfirm Italian mentor Stefano Sanderra as their first team coach for the next season, the Times of Malta can confirm.
Sanderra’s contract with Hibernians was due to expire at the end of the month and so far no contact has been made between the two parties over new negotiations.
However, sources have told The Times of Malta that Hibernians are determined to keep hold of the services of Sanderra who this season steered the side to a strong title challenge and finished as league runners-up to Ħamrun Spartans.
It is understood that top officials from the Paola club will sit down with Sanderra in the coming weeks to start talks over a new contract.
The former Sambenedettese coach has been in charge of Hibernians for the past three seasons and managed to finish as runners-up twice during his time at the Paola club.
Meanwhile, Hibernians are expected also to start working on their squad ahead of their commitments in the UEFA Europa Conference League.
The Paolites are expected to part ways with Argentine striker Imanol Iriberri, Brazilian forward Wilkson and Brazilian striker Tiago Fonseca who returned to his parent club Floriana after his loan stint came to an end.
