The Malta national team and the U-21 selection will be leaving the island at the end of this month for a ten-day training camp which will include a number of friendlies in preparation of their upcoming international competitive commitments.
Details were given by Bjorn Vassallo, the Malta FA president, during the MFA Council on Tuesday.
Vassallo said that Devis Mangia will be guiding the senior national team coach for a training camp in Austria between May 27 and June 7 in Austria.
During their stay in Austria, the national team will be playing friendly matches against Northern Ireland, Kosovo and Kazakhstan.
On the other hand, the Malta U-21 selection, under the guidance of Gilbert Agius, will be heading to Slovenia for a training camp on the same dates.
During their stay in Slovenia they will also play warm-up matches against the Qatar U-23 selection and Bosnia Herzegovina which will help Agius to help the team to prepare for their opening UEFA Championship qualifiers which get under way in September.
It was also announced that the Malta U-19 selection will play two friendly matches against San Marino in June.
As regards the women’s national team, Mark Gatt will lead his charges in two warm-up matches in June.
In fact, the women’s national team will be playing two friendly matches against Montenegro, with the first one scheduled for June 10 and the second three days later. Both warm-ups will be played at the Centenary Stadium.
