Arkadia Foodstores and Is-Suq tal-Belt are the new official sponsors of the Sliema ASC Women waterpolo team.
The three-year sponsorship agreement includes naming rights and will establish Arkadia as the lead sponsor of the reigning national champions. The team will now carry Sliema Arkadia as the official name.
Nicky Camilleri, Group Chief Financial Officer of Mizzi Organisation, signed the sponsorship agreement with Dr Frank Testa, the Sliema ASC president in the presence of David Shone, Arkadia General Manager.
Testa said he was very happy to see Arkadia committed to help Sliema ASC challenge for women’s top waterpolo honours and he believes that this co-operation will be mutually beneficial to both parties.
“A club like Sliema always aspires to be at the top of the game, and this year will be no different. This is why the backing of a strong partner like Arkadia is crucial to fulfilling such aspirations,” he said.
“Besides the much-needed financial support, this collaboration instills a sense of pride in the club given the excellence that distinguishes this company, a standard that has also been synonymous with the most decorated aquatic sport club in Malta.”
On his part, Shone said; “We are very proud to be sponsoring the Sliema’s women waterpolo team. We enjoy the opportunity to be able to give something back to the community and to be associated with such a prestigious club having such a rich sporting history.
“We look forward to following the Summer League and to seeing the club emerging with full honors.”
