Sliema coach Sergio Afric, who yesterday watched his side’s win from the stands, relaying instructions to Kurt Engerer, has been relieved of his duties with immediate effect. Soon after the match, a short statement by Sliema announced that Afric was no longer their coach.
“After much consideration, Sliema ASC have decided to part ways with Sergio Afric. We would like to thank Sergio for the contribution he has made to the club and express our gratitude for his hard work and commitment,” the statement said.
Afric coached Sliema in three different spells winning multiple honours including 5 leagues, 1 knockout, and 3 Winter leagues. However, during his last tenure, his only honour came in the Enemed Cup in 2020.
