The 2021 waterpolo season reaches its climax on Saturday when joint-leaders San Ġiljan and Neptunes go head-to-head in the final game of the season that will decide who will be the league champions for this summer.
Neptunes and San Ġiljan were arguably the two most in-form teams this season and there is no love lost between the two sides who are expected to provide a great spectacle at the National Pool.
The Reds have enjoyed the edge over San Ġiljan this season but the Saints boast some experienced players in their squad that could make the difference on Saturday.
Malta coach Karl Izzo spoke to the Times of Malta ahead of this titanic showdown and gave a low-down on both teams and what are we expecting to see from arguably Malta’s best waterpolo sides at present.
Izzo also gave his views on the National Championships and the effect COVID-19 had on the teams’ performances.
