Mellieħa Curves overcame the Għajnsielem Redcoats 15-5 in a fastpitch game played at the Għajnsielem Ground.
Curves pitcher Rena Vella was the standout for the team from Mellieħa as she struck out five players, a season-high.
Mellieħa player-coach, Olga Karpuhina also had a great outing at second base registering several put-outs and assists holding off the Redcoats at critical stages of the game.
She also had two hits with three RBIs.
For the Redcoats, Marilise Vella registered four hits from four at-bats including a double, and had three RBIs.
Redcoats starting pitcher, Clarissa Camilleri, made her debut as a pitcher and impressed.
She struck out the first batter she faced (the first of three strikeouts) and had a 3-up-3-down first inning to open the game.
Lara Buttigieg who came in to relieve her in the fourth inning was also pitching in a competitive game for the first time.
She struck out one batter in two innings pitched. The two young pitchers showed a lot of potential.
The last game of the year will be played in Mellieħa on Sunday, November 30
