Maltese sensation Haley Bugeja was on the losing end of this weekend’s big game from the Serie A Femminile as Sassuolo lost to Juventus 2-0.
Bugeja, who returned with the Malta women’s national team in the recent international window, entered the fray in the second half in the 60th minute.
Juventus emerged winners thanks to a Cristiana Girelli’s brace as they move to 30 points after 10 games. Sassuolo remain second with 24 points after their eight wins and two defeats in 10 league fixtures.
Sassuolo return in action next weekend when they travel to Como Women in the Coppa Italia Femminile.
A tie that will pit Bugeja against fellow national team companion Emma Lipman who plies her trade at Como.
