Malta women internationals Emma Lipman and Nicole Sciberras met in Wednesday’s Serie B Femminile matchup between Como Women and Tavagnacco.
Lipman’s Como Women, who are battling leaders Brescia for a Serie A promotion, survived a late scare to claim a 2-1 victory.
The Malta women’s captain was in the starting formation before being replaced at the hour mark after picking up a minor knock.
Sciberras, on her part, was deployed from the start for Tavagnacco and played a full game as a central defender.
Como’s win lifted them to four points behind leaders Brescia.
On the other hand, Tavagnacco are embroiled in a relegation battle as they sit nine points above the red zone.
Meanwhile, Martina Borg came on in the second half for Roma Calcio Femminile as they faced Chievo Verona Women away from home.
Chievo defeated Roma CF – already relegated – 6-0.
