Ryan Camenzuli has bid farewell to Floriana FC on Monday and has agreed terms to join Premier League rivals Ħamrun Spartans.
The lateral wingback posted an emotional message on his facebook page on Monday, just a day after helping the Greens win their 21st FA Trophy following a 2-1 extra-time win over Valletta in the final at the National Stadium.
Sunday’s match was Camenzuli’s final appearance with Floriana after a three-year stay as the Malta defender’s contract with the Greens expired at the end of the season.
Camenzuli has agreed personal terms with Ħamrun Spartans and has put pen to paper on a five-year contract to become the Spartans’ first signing in the summer transfer window.
“My three-year journey with the prestigious club of Floriana FC came to an end yesterday, and what a way to finish!,” Camenzuli wrote on his post.
“I would like to take a moment to thank a few people that made my three-year journey such a memorable experience. Firstly, I would like to thank Riccardo Gauci, Peter Agius and the committee at the time for having such faith in me. Secondly, I want to thank Johann Said, for continuing to believe in me and always encouraging me, also thank you to the present committee. The team manager Anthony Gafa technical staff, coaches and fellow players, there are no word to thank you for your friendship and memories. I will cherish them forever.
“Mark Piscopo thank you for your continuous support. Ejja min hemm u bhal ma nghidu dejjem, kuragg!
“The supporters, especially Armata Ħadra Furjaniża – thank you for being there every step of the way. For never missing a game and being there to cheer us on rain or shine. Your encouragement and support is what keeps us players going.
