Gżira United have offered a new contract to Croatian winger Toni Kolega.
The Premier League side said in a statement that the talented winger has put pen to paper on a two-year contract.
Kolega arrived at Gżira United midway through last season and has impressed with his performances for the Maroons who had to contend with several high-profile injuries throughout the campaign.
In fact, Kolega, who signed with the Maroons in January, made 11 appearances for the club and scored six goals as he helped the team to finish fourth in the BOV Premier League which also earned them a place in the UEFA Conference League.
The Maroons are not expected to make wholesale changes in the summer transfer window as the majority of their overseas players are already tied down with the club.
One player who is currently in talks with the club to extend his stay at Gżira United is Riccardo Correa who has just returned from a long-term injury.
Added to that, Gżira United have also Martin Davis and Luis Riascos back at the club after loan spells at Sliema Wanderers and Mosta respectively.
It is Gżira United’s intention to try and bring in two new Maltese players and are also set to continue with their philosophy of trying to lure to young Maltese talent to the club.
