Spanish authorities are investigating a suspected case of match-fixing in a Copa del Rey game from December 2021, Spain’s top division La Liga said on Thursday.
The game saw then-La Liga side Levante win 8-0 at fifth-tier minnows Huracan Melilla.
La Liga reported the potential wrongdoings to the national police after receiving an anonymous tip, the league said in a statement.
Six people, including a former Huracan player, have declared in a Melilla court as the investigation continues.
