MALTA 0-2 ESTONIA
0-1 Vikman 20, 0-2 Nigula 41.
The Malta U-16’s boys’ selection opened their UEFA Development Tournament commitments with a 2-0 home defeat against Estonia.
The Baltic nation made sure of the win with two first-half goals scored by Maxim Vikman and Romet Nigula.
The Maltese, led by coach Andreas Vella, struggled to stage a reaction and could not salvage a positive result from this game.
In the other game of the tournament, Iceland and Armenia shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw.
Vella’s selection return to action this Saturday when they host Armenia before wrapping up their commitments against Nordic side Iceland.
