Fiorentina will face Inter Milan in the Italian Cup final after a goalless draw with Cremonese saw them through to next month’s showpiece 2-0 on aggregate.
The Tuscan side have not won a major trophy since the last time they won the cup in 2001.
But Vincenzo Italiano’s side are having an eventful season after also reaching the semi-finals of the Europa Conference League.
They will fancy their chances in Rome after beating Inter at the San Siro at the start of the month.
Cremonese knocked Napoli and Roma out of the competition to get to the last four but their season is now all-but over, with relegation back to Serie B looming.
Davide Ballardini’s team are second-from-bottom in Italy’s top flight points, eight points from safety with seven matches remaining.
