Jones, 25, was instrumental in helping Notts County achieving promotion to League Two.
He scored the winning extra-time goal in their National League semi-final against Boreham Wood while scored in the penalty shoot-out which propelled Notts County into the Football League at the expense of Chesterfield.

“He embodies the type of player and person we want to have at the club,” Notts said in a statement.
“His football fanaticism is so apparent in his distinctive playing style and how hard he works for the team.”
In an interview with the club’s official website, Jones said that signing the contract was a ‘no-brainer’ decision.
“I’m absolutely over the moon to sign for Notts County,” he said.
“It’s a club that made me fall back in love with the game and I’m very grateful for that. I was always hoping to be offered something, and felt I’d done well enough, but in football you never know.
“I was really excited when my agent let me know that the club were keen to bring me in permanently. I was only focused on Notts and continuing at a club where I feel comfortable and happy, which is really valuable to any footballer.
I’m so, so thankful to everyone who contributed to me coming here and I’m happy to have repaid some of that by playing a small part in getting the club back to where it belongs.”
Jones has six international caps for Malta and is expected to be part of Michele Marcolini’s next call up list for the highly-anticipated Euro qualifier against England, in June.
