It was a case of double delight for Mġarr United as their players Brenda Borg and Amber Grech were named Assikura Women’s Player of the Month for March and April respectively.
Borg, the Mġarr United captain, secured her second Assikura Women’s Player of the Month prize after winning the first award for season 2022/23 on the back of her performances during the September-October period.
The Malta women’s international was instrumental for Mġarr United during the month of March as they obtained three victories, including wins against Hibernians and Raiders-Lija who were also challenging for third place in the 2022/23 Assikura Women’s League at the time.
For her part, Amber Grech picked up the final Assikura Women’s League Player of the Month award for this season after being voted best player in April.
Grech ended her campaign in style, scoring seven goals in the two games against Mtarfa to help the Greens to finish third in the Assikura Women’s League.
