Sliema Wanderers have announced that club captain Mark Scerri will be part of next season’s squad that will be featuring in the Premier League.
The Blues won immediate promotion to the top-flight after spending last season in the Challenge League.
Scerri, 33, was instrumental in Sliema’s promotion with 15 appearances and three goals in the process.
“We are very proud to announce that club captain Mark Scerri, has officially extended his contract with the club. We are overjoyed to have our inspirational leader continue his journey with us,” Sliema Wanderers said in an official statement.
“Mark has been an integral part of our Sliema Wanderers family since the beginning of his football career. His unwavering loyalty and commitment to the club have been unparalleled, and he has always been a cornerstone of our success.
Throughout the years, Mark’s contributions on the field have been invaluable. His exceptional skills, tactical awareness, and leadership abilities have made him a key figure in our team’s accomplishments. Whether it’s his crucial goals, precise assists, or relentless work rate, Mark has consistently proven himself as a vital player in our squad.”
Led by coach Paul Zammit, the Blues will start their campaign against Birkirkara.
