Oliver Spiteri’s side launch domestic campaign against Ħamrun Spartans
Balzan have bolstered their squad with two foreign additions, the club announce on their social media.
Aleksander Katanic and Leonardo Souza (picture) will be joining Oliver Spiter’s squad as Balzan continue their preparations ahead of their Premier League opener against champions Ħamrun Spartans on September 16.
Souza, 31, joins Balzan at the back of important experiences throughout his career including at Partizan Belgrade, Russia’s Anzhi and Al Ahli of Saudi Arabia.
Most recently, he was in his native Brazil where he had spells at Maringa and Cianorte.
The attacking midfielder is the brother of another ex-Balzan, Alan, who was on the books of Valletta and Sta Lucia here in Malta as well.
Meanwhile, Katanic – another centre-forward, hails from Serbia and has played for Metalac and Novi Sad before his recent experiences in Finland’s top-flight at FC Honka and in Macedonia with Sileks.
