Sirens ASC have announced that they have appointed Ranko Perovic as their new head coach.
The high-profile Montenegrin coach replaces Marko Orlovic who stepped down from his post of head coach at the club after a four-year spell.
“We are thrilled to announce that an agreement has been reached with Ranko Perović to take over as the club’s head coach,” Sirens ASC said in a statement.
“Perović needs no introduction to the waterpolo world having previously held posts as head coach for top European side VK Primorac, Japanese side Bourbon and most prominently the former national team head coach of Montenegro.”
Sirens ASC said that Perovic arrives at the club with a distinguished CV as he secured success on both the European and world stage.
Perovic had a successful spell as coach with VK Primorac with whom he won major titles in the Serbian league both at senior and junior level. His biggest success at Primorac came on the continent where he helped the team to be crowned European champions in 2009 before managing to add the European Super Cup the following season.
Perovic was then installed as Montenegro national coach leading the team to second place in the European Championships in 2012 and third place in the World League in 2013.
In 2013, Montenegro won the silver medal in the World Championship in Barcelona.
Five years later, he moved to the Far East where he was crowned as Japan champion with Bourbon-Kashiwazaki.
In 2021 he was back in Montenegro with VK Primorac and help them win the National Cup.
