Former captain Manuel Pasqual among the guests of honour
Ex-Fiorentina defender Manuel Pasqual will be among the guests of honour as a delegation from Florence will visit the Viola Club Malta to celebrate its 55th year anniversary.
A former Fiorentina captain, Pasqual played more than 300 games for the Viola and played under the guidance Cesare Prandelli and Vincenzo Montella.
He was part of the 2009/2010 side that beat Liverpool in the Champions League group stages, winning both at the Artemio Franchi and at Anfield.
The ex-Italy international with whom he collected 11 caps was also with Fiorentina when they reached the Coppa Italia final in 2013/2014 and the Europa League semi-finals a year later.
Pasqual will be joined by Celeste Pin, a former Fiorentina player who was part of the 1989/1990 side that reached the UEFA Cup final against Juventus.
Pin has 200 appearances for Fiorentina and was inducted into the club’s hall of fame last year.
Other notable guests attending the club’s activities will be the Associazione Centro Coordinamento Viola Club’s top people including its president Filippo Pucci while a television crew from popular Tuscan station RTV 38 will be in Malta to cover the event.
The club would like to thank all those who contributed to the success of these events especially Visit Malta for their support.
