Malta international scored twice for Stal Mielec against Ruch Chorzow.
Malta midfielder Matthew Guillaumier wrote history as he became the first Maltese player to score in Poland’s Ekstraklasa, the top-flight championship of the country.
The former Ħamrun Spartans captain scored his first ever goal for Stal Mielec in the first-half of their Sunday afternoon match against Ruch Chorzow.
Guillaumier, on his 23rd league appearance, netted home from close-range just to see his goal disallowed for an offside position.
However, after a brief silent check by the VAR, the match official overturned his decision to the joy of the Maltese player.
After the change of ends, Guillaumier scored his second goal for Stal Mielec when he converted into goal from inside the small area following another corner-kick.
