Luxol St Andrew’s won the first final of the Enemed Futsal League when they produced a dominant display against University of Malta ACJ Group and secured a 4-1 win.
Gabriel Dobre’s boys had a perfect first half during which they managed to hit the target four times to all but secure their win by the interval.
The University of Malta tried to attack but struggled to break down a resolute Luxol defence, with goalkeeper Clint Mifsud performing a string of fine saves.
An own goal by Melvin Borg put Luxol ahead before goals from Everton Veve, Andre Ciancio and Andy Mangion established a 4-0 lead by the end of the first half.
In the second half, Leo Muscat pulled a goal back for University of Malta ACJ Group.
The championship final series will resume on Friday when the two sides meet again
The two sides will meet again on Friday for Game Two of this season’s final series.
If Luxol win the match they will be declared champions for this season.
