Floriana FC have announced that they have parted ways with first-team coach Mauro Camoranesi.
The former Italy World Cup winner had joined the Greens at the start of the season and helped the team to mount a strong title challenge only to concede the title to eventual winners Ħamrun Spartans in the penultimate day of the season.
The Greens also enjoyed a great run in the FA Trophy where they had the chance to amend for the league heartache when reaching the Cup final against their ‘Old Firm’ rivals Sliema Wanderers.

However, Floriana suffered a penalty heartache as the Wanderers prevailed 4-2 on aggregate to leave the Greens with nothing to show for their efforts this season.
“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Coach Mauro German Camoranesi and Assistant Coach Fernando Nowicki. Their dedication and contributions have been invaluable to the team,” Floriana FC said in a statement.
“With mutual agreement, their contracts will not be extended, and we wish them the very best in their future endeavours.”
Floriana are now expected to start their search for a new first-team coach and an appointment is likely to be made in the next week or so as the Greens are likely to restart their pre-season preparations in early June ahead of their commitments in the UEFA Europa Conference League.

Floriana are the third Premier League side to announce a change in their coaching setup as champions Ħamrun Spartans have lost Luciano Zauri, who turned down the Reds’ offer to extend their contract.
Balzan are also looking to install a first-team coach after Oliver Spiteri stepped down from his post at the end of the season.
