Newly-promoted Premier League side Melita secured their first signing of the close season when they agreed terms to sign young defensive midfielder Kurt Bondin.
The 21-year-old is seen as a shrewd signing for the Challenge League champions as they are bringing to the club a talented midfielder who has managed to break into the Malta U-21 national team in the past few months.

So far, he has made 11 appearances for the Malta U-21 national team, now under the charge of coach Ivan Woods.
Bondin came through the youth ranks of Żebbuġ Rangers and forced his way into the senior team. During his spell at the Rangers he also represented their club in the Premier League in season 2022-23.
Last season, he made 24 appearances with the Rangers and put his name on the scoresheet on three occasions.
The signing of Bondin fits perfectly with the football philosophy of Melita FC who are keen to invest in young Maltese talent.
Melita are expected to continue with their transfer activity in the next few days as they seek to build a competitive squad for their return to the Maltese Premier League.

Apart from the signing of Bondin, the club have succeeded in reconfirming some key personnel. Coach Clive Mizzi has extended his contract with the club for another season while Malta U-21 international Karl Mohnani has penned a new two-year contract.
Brazilian forward Andre Carlos, the Challenge League top scorer last season, has also agreed to extend his stay for another campaign.
