Sliema Wanderers are closing in on another major signing as they are in advanced talks to sign midfielder Steve Pisani.
The Wanderers have been one of the busiest teams in the close season as they are working hard to strengthen their squad before they start their pre-season preparations this month.
In the aftermath of their FA Trophy success, Sliema Wanderers coach Paul Zammit had made it clear that the Blues needed to reach a higher level of performance in the upcoming campaign if they were to become genuine title contenders.
And the Wanderers are certainly working on their path as they have managed to secure a number of quality signings.
In fact, this week Sliema Wanderers have completed the signing of international defenders, namely Cain Attard and Adam Magri Overend.
Now, the Blues have set their sights on Steve Pisani, who last season was on the books of Santa Lucia, who, however, were relegated to the Challenge League.
Negotiations between the two parties have been ongoing for the past couple of weeks now and it looks like that an agreement is close to being reached.
For the Wanderers, the acquisition of Pisani is surely a major addition as they will be bringing in an experienced midfielder in their ranks that will help them add more flair to their team’s engine room.
In his career, Pisani has played with some of the best teams in Maltese football such as Floriana, Balzan and Gżira United just to name a few.
Apart, from Pisani, the Wanderers are also in advanced talks to sign another experienced player in Simon Zibo.
The Ghana midfielder is currently without a club after his contract with Birkirkara expired at the end of the season.
