Former Malta international player Andre Schembri will pursue his first coaching spell at senior level, after taking over at Anagennisi Deryneias in Cyprus’ second-tier.
Schembri has put pen to paper on a one-year deal with the club.
He is at the back of a two-year experience as coach of Apollon Limassol’s U-19’s side, serving as assistant coach for the first team for a short period of time.
The Maltese coach is expected in Cyprus at the end of the week where he will officially assume his duties.
Anagennisi Deryneias, based in Famagusta, finished second in last season’s third-tier, securing one of the promotion spots.
Founded in 1920, Anagennisi won the second-tier twice – in 1999 and 2003.
